Snow Day!

This morning I got out of bed, showered, and proceeded to get ready for 80's day at school. I decided to go all out and where converse shoes, tight leggings, a bright off the shoulder shirt, big earrings, and teased hair. I looked good. BUZZ buzz buzz. . . . My cell phone went off. I had a text. Oh yes! A delay! Or at least, that was what I was hoping for in my mind. I lifted to phone and opened the lid. One text. Please say delay! Please say delay! Oh no! Closed? Really? Had it snowed overnight enough for our district to actually call off school? I glanced outside expecting the blizzard of 2010, and there it was . . . a dusting. No school, for that? We have to make up a day this summer, for that? Not to mention, I was wide awake decked out in 80's wear from head to toe.

So, here I sit, typing an update into my new blog. No going back to bed for me. Good morning world!

What happened to 60 degrees?

So far the temperature cannot make up its mind in 2010. This weekend, 60 degrees . . . in January . . . but it was too good to last. Today the chilly winter air is back, and it has left all the teachers I work with hoping for another snow day. Not me, though. I prefer to have a long summer break, and these snow days eat into my summer bliss. So, back off snow! We have seen you. You are beautiful. Don't take this the wrong way, but you must go away!
